United States. Ashare recognized Dennis Stanke, Trane's Applications Staff Engineer, with the High Performance Construction award.
Stanke leads the ANSI/ASHRAE/USGBC/IES 189.1 standard committee on the design of high-performance constructions and green buildings. He also oversaw the publication of the 2011 version of the standard that provides a green building foundation for those interested in designing, constructing and operating high-performance buildings.
The recognition was presented during the last High Performance Construction Week, which was created to especially recognize the impacts on the health, safety and well-being of buildings, along with opportunities to design, construct and operate high-performance buildings that reflect concern about these impacts.
Events were held to highlight the importance of high-performance buildings in the political, federal, state, as well as for the general public.
