Outdated in the digital age

We live in a world in which digital tools have made our lives easier in many aspects, both everyday and professional. Thanks to the internet, today we can be in permanent contact with whoever we want, share files, listen to music, and something very important: stay informed.

Always being informed in a decision of each one of us, but it is a chain that is born with an event that then becomes news or informative fact if it reaches the mass audience that we want to attract. However, unfortunately, our industry still seems to be living in the stone age in terms of leveraging digital platforms for its own benefit and that of other members of the sector.

Specifically, I emphasize some associations in Latin America, which apparently forgot that today their main information center should be their website. A space that each of the professionals of the industry should consult almost daily to find out what happens in their country in everything related to air conditioning and refrigeration, but unfortunately, in some places this does not happen.

However, first I greatly applaud the work that some associations of the guild are doing to keep their portals updated, with news about trainings, seminars, events, documents of interest, among others. But, without mentioning names (so as not to hurt susceptibilities), it is worrying to visit some websites of these entities in which the last updates were given two, three or four years ago.

- Publicidad -

I clearly understand that the lack of budget, the sum of many responsibilities, among other factors, can explain the abandonment of these digital portals, but this should not be an excuse to evade the responsibility that each association has with the guild of its country and with the media that we also inform professionals.

The invitation is that you reconsider this aspect and try as much as possible to be updated. Remember that the image of your association and that of your country is at stake.
