They are designed to offer 20% less running costs than variable speed pumps with standard induction motors. The new pumps are available with motors ranging from 15 hp to 50 hp and operate according to NEMA – Ultra-premium efficiency levels that exceed U.S. Department of State efficiency targets.
Beyond motor efficiency, a number of additional design innovations make the new pump design more energy efficient and cost-effective. Additionally, Armstrong's patented sensorless parallel control starts multiple pumps and regulates the output. It has design points and set points based on actual conditions at the site, a quadratic pressure control curve that provides more efficiency than a linear pressure control.
On the other hand it includes constant flow function to maintain the desired flow in recirculation applications, advanced connectivity through Armstrong Pump Manager, a performance tracking based on the service cloud.
