TripleGuard
QwikPure TripleGuard is a whole house air purification system with triple patent pending protection that guarantees complete disinfection by: UV-C light, photocatalytic oxidation (PCO), Activated Carbon/Potassium Permanganate (AC/PP) purifier.
It features UV-C light, which is lethal to many viruses and bacteria by damaging their DNA and RNA. It has a deflector design to increase the time of exposure to UV rays, increases effectiveness, this stimulates Photocatalytic Oxidation.
In relation to photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) it forms powerful hydroxyl radicals that break down organic substances by oxidation and reduces bacteria, viruses and odors, as well as volatile organic carbons (VOCs) emitted by paints, cleaners, building materials and cooking.
Also, potassium permanganate works as a strong oxidizing agent to provide an additional level of protection beyond PCO and is extremely safe (on the World Health Organization's Model List of Essential Medicines). It is recommended to change the AC/PP purifier annually
Notably, dual lamps provide ample UV-C rays with individual bulb indicators to tell you when to change lamps, usually every year. UV-C bulbs are specially coated to prevent ozone formation. (Ordinary UV-C bulbs can create harmful TOXIC ozone.)
