On Sunday, May 29, 2011, the "First meeting of producers and consumers conscious of taking care of the health of the earth and their own" will be held at the facilities of the Hidalguense Foundation, Viaducto Rojo Gomez 211, Col Cespedes, Pachuca, Hgo.
The meeting will be as a festival where there will be exhibition, barter, sale of products, workshops, talks, documentaries and cultural offer. It is not an isolated event, but an initiative promoted by various organizations to promote local production and consumption. The medium-term objectives are to generate a network of conscious producers and consumers and to promote the establishment of alternative markets.
It is the beginning of a festival movement called OLLIN XIHMAI (earth movement). The intention is to articulate civil society initiatives responding to the call of this time, in the sense of strengthening and linking activities in different parts of the planet where people and organizations concerned about the survival of the human species talk and present works aimed at sustainability.
