Aprean defends the strength of the Andalusian renewable sector in the face of the current difficult situation

The president of the Association of Promoters and Producers of Renewable Energies of Andalusia (Aprean), Mariano Barroso, has defended the "strength" of renewable energies in Andalusia against the "difficult situation suffered by the sector, based both on the experience, knowledge and level of development of the companies that operate in the community and on the Andalusian potential in resources for clean energies".

Barroso has made these statements in the course of the IX General Assembly of the association, which was held this Thursday at the headquarters of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Andalusia (CEA) in Seville. The event was attended by companies that together represent more than 95 percent of Andalusian renewable energy activity.

In this context, he has launched a "hopeful" message to the business community of the renewable energy sector in Andalusia and stressed that "despite the complicated moment we are experiencing, we must take into account, and make it a flag. " Andalusia boasts a situation of world leadership in the sector and the competitive advantages we have must make us face the situation with realism but also with the necessary optimism to not only overcome the present moment but be able to lead the new developments and challenges, "he says.

Aprean has promulgated the need to promote in a "decisive way" the internationalization of Andalusian companies to meet the current and future demands of countries that "now embark on the path towards renewable energy models". For this, the association already has the support of the Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion (Extenda) and has as its immediate objective to serve as a promoter and dynamizer of the internationalization processes undertaken by Andalusian companies.

At the same time, Barroso has claimed the potential of Andalusia in terms of energy use in biomass. "Our community is called to direct the processes of development of a renewable technology from which we have enough resources and that has an enormous capacity for the generation of employment and attraction of investment," he said.

RENEWAL OF CHARGES

On the other hand, during the General Assembly of Aprean has proceeded to the renewal of positions of the Board of Directors, which has reappointed as president of the association Mariano Barroso, for four more years, as well as delegates of areas.

The companies Acciona, represented by Carlos Castro, have been elected to the management body; Capital Energy, with Rafael García-Valenzuela; Desarrollos Eólicos (EDP), with Ricardo Sánchez; Enel Green Power, with Alfonso Vargas; Gas Natural, with José María de Juan; Iberdrola Renovables, with Alberto Yarte; Magtel, with Toni Llorens; Orisol, with Marco Jiménez; and Unión Eólica Andaluza, with Mariano Barroso.

As for area delegates, Miguel Montero, from the company Texla Renovables, will lead the photovoltaic sector; Francisco González Hierro, from Urbaenergía (Grupo ACS), will be in charge of solar thermal; while Rafael Pérez-Pire, from the company Uniwindet, will be the biomass representative.
