Antonio González Morfin, delegate of Infonavit, announced that from April 2011, all credits acquired with Infonavit for the purchase of any type of house, land construction, expansion and remodeling, must have ecotechnologies that guarantee monthly savings in expenses such as electricity, water and gas, and so all power considered green housing.
For a house to be considered a green home , it must have: solar heater, high efficiency gas heater, water-saving faucets, saving spotlights, toilets that do not exceed six liters of water per discharge, and depending on the climatic zone, thermal insulation on the roofs.
During the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP16, in the Forum "Strategies and Achievements of Sustainable Housing in Mexico" where the Mexican President, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, participated, where the new program called Green Mortgages was highlighted, the objective is to create savings in the economy of Mexican families entitled to Infonavit, at the same time, Mexico is advancing its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and promoting a culture of respect for the environment.
