The talks on the 9th at COP16 began with an appeal by senior United Nations officials to delegates to refine the final measures on climate change mitigation, adaptation and financing in the last three days of negotiations.
José Ángel Córdova Villalobos, Secretary of Health of Mexico commented that "there is scientific evidence that the effects of this climate phenomenon affect human life and the well-being of people, so it is clear that there is a negative relationship between Climate Change and health"
The Eco Film Festival, a project of the Man Nature Foundation, postponed an annual contest in short film format, raising awareness among people to Take Care of the Planet's Water.
Hernando Guerrero Cázares, Chief of Advisors of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico (SEMARNAT) assured that all greenhouse gas emissions produced during COP16 will be fully naturalized, "All aspects have worked on the sustainability of the event," he said. "We will give each participating country a formal certificate that their emissions during their stay were neutralized."
