Darío Núñez Ameni and Thomas Siegl have presented a design concept for the MASDAR city (the first green city) in Abu Dhabi. The project is still in its initial stage, in this part of the world the wind runs at high speed, wanting to take advantage of wind energy, they imagined a giant wheat field so that when the large stems moved they produce energy.
The stems will be made with resin reinforced with carbon fiber, will use 1203 stems that will measure approximately 55 meters in height, rest on concrete bases of between 10 and 20 meters in diameter each. At the top of each stem is an LED light that shines depending on the intensity of the wind, inside each structure there are piezoelectric elements which is what helps generate energy with the wind.
It will also function as a park, people can go sunbathing, walking, lying on the bases, or just take a walk, so far it is not known how much energy it will be able to generate, that is something they are still working on.
