Very soon the rolls of toilet paper without cardboard tube will be in stores.
Kimberly-Clark will launch a new line of toilet paper or toilet paper without the very famous cardboard tubing, this with the intention of reinforcing its position as a sustainable company committed to the care of the environment.
The technology used for tubeless rolls is ultra secret and although the hole will not be as round as we are used to it will adapt to the paper fasteners common in all homes.
At the moment this toilet paper will not have recycled material content. But hey, it's a start.
If the product works well during the test at the Walmart club and Sam's, Kimberly-Clark could launch tubeless toilet paper globally and expand the technology to paper towels.
This innovation aims to reduce paper waste generated by the production of toilet paper or toilet paper. According to Kimberly-Clark estimates, 17 billion tubes of toilet paper are produced each year in the U.S. When placed end-to-end, the tubes could approach the distance to the moon back and forth – twice. All these cardboard tubes of toilet paper mean 160 million pounds of garbage in landfills.
