The renewable energy company Sonkyo Energy is going to install in the semi-desert region of Turkana, in the north of Kenya, a mixed intelligent system of renewable energies. Developed in collaboration between three Cantabrian ICT companies, it will benefit 2,200 children in a desert area.
The system has been designed by the Cantabrian company Teican and consists of a device that includes a diesel generator, solar panels and two Windspot windmills.
These energy sources are connected to an intelligent electronic device designed by Setelsa that decides which source can best be used at any given time, depending on the circumstances.
With it, the energy supply needs of a local mission will be met with a network of nurseries that assists 2,200 children, and in addition, with the mixture of these energy sources, the emission into the atmosphere of nine tons of CO2 per year will be avoided. This method will allow, among other utilities, the preservation of medicines or food.
