According to Yus, the previous method, installed in 2008, consisted of "a high flow water circuit" that required "constant" maintenance due to "legionella risk", with a cost of 1,300 euros per month and a daily consumption of 3,000 liters of water.
This procedure has been replaced by a specifically designed "screw chiller" that is the first of its characteristics to be launched "in Spain".
The mayor has pointed out that, by not using water, the new system allows savings in maintenance and consumption, while contributing to reduce a possible "risk to health".
The cost of the new method amounts to 70,000 euros and has been borne by the Department of Commerce.
