Venezuela. In the city of Caracas, the PR300 refrigeration plant is already in operation, which will provide 2,400 tons of refrigeration initially to three Metro stations in that town.
The Plaza Venezuela, Sabana Grande and Chacaíto stations on Line 1 of the mass transit system are the first to have the new air conditioning system, which is expected to be 100% operational by the end of this year.
The intensive maintenance plan being implemented by the state transport company since November 2010 includes the renovation of air conditioning systems, with an investment of more than 400 million bolivars (about US$93,000).
The Caracas Metro mobilizes almost two million people a day and is the main means of transport in the Venezuelan capital.
