Underfloor heating will enter for the first time in the Renove Plan 2011. This was announced by Carlos López Jimeno, general director of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Community of Madrid, at the conference recently organized by Uponor and the Association of Entrepreneurs of Plumbing, Sanitation, Gas, Heating, Air Conditioning, Electricity, Maintenance and Related of Madrid, Asefosam, under the title of "Underfloor heating: A key factor in energy efficiency".
Aimed mainly at installers, the conference also aimed to publicize the advantages of this underfloor heating system over other traditional methods of air conditioning.
José María de la Fuente, president of Asefosam, was in charge of the opening of the meeting, which was also attended by Fernando Roses, executive vice president of Uponor Corporation; Israel Ortega, head of Uponor Academy, who explained in detail the fundamental technical characteristics of invisible air conditioning applications, and Francesco Causone, head of the energy department of the University of Torino, who was in charge of presenting the tool for estimating energy savings in homes.
As explained during the meeting, the invisible air conditioning solution is integrated by a circuit of pipes that cover the entire surface of the ground, through which water circulates at the desired temperature. A single system that works throughout the year, as heating in winter and as cooling in summer, capable of generating and maintaining an optimal temperature of comfort in the home.
It is a solution "respectful of the environment, which achieves energy savings of between 20% and 70% (in combination with the use of alternative energy), in addition to a reduction in CO2 emissions of more than 20%, according to the study carried out by the Independent Engineering Simulations and Projects". Another of its advantages is that "it does not occupy space, since it is installed in the structure of the building itself, and does not need radiators or any type of external element, so it gains between 3% and 5% of useful surface in the house".
Uponor has developed this solution for both new construction and renovation, in the latter case through the Mini invisible air conditioning system.
