Colombia. After the constant complaints of the users of the Ernesto Cortissoz airport in Barranquilla about the high temperatures that were occurring there due to the non-operation of the air conditioning system, the Caribbean Airport Group, the new operator of the airport, confirmed that the system has already been repaired.
According to the official statement of the group, "the air conditioning of the air terminal is already in operation with the 4 chillers renovated and repowered, adding a capacity of 900 tons of refrigeration."
An investment of 1,400 million pesos was necessary to complete the repair works of the air conditioning system, according to information from the Caribbean Airport Group. "Temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius are recorded in the departure lounges, a very pleasant thermal sensation that improves the experience of people as they pass through the Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport."
According to Álvaro González Ringler, Manager of the Caribbean Airport Group, "air conditioning is a key issue and that is why we have spared no effort in the adaptations and in the purchase of equipment necessary for our users to have a good experience, at the height of a growing city like Barranquilla".
The works of recovery of the air conditioning "were advanced as a priority, even before launching the plan to modernize the infrastructure of the air terminal, in which resources will be invested in the order of 350 billion pesos," the statement said.
