Brazil. In the south of the country, a debate was held to analyze the current scenario of the local economy and the challenges they will face for 2016.
The contraction of the Brazilian economy reaches all segments and in the sectors represented in the refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation sectors, it is no different.
What makes the sector immune is the fact that new technologies help reduce electrical power, now considered one of the most important elements of any cost reduction program.
The topic was presented by the economist of the State Foundation of Economics and Statistics (FEE), professor of the PUCRS and counselor of the Regional Council of Economy of Rio Grande do Sul (Corecon / RS), Alfredo Meneghetti Neto, at the headquarters of Asbrav - Brazilian Association of the South of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation.
Reducing costs for the business is key. The climate is closely related to electricity and there is no doubt that investments in structure and new technologies are important allies in this process – said Meneghetti.
The central theme of the conference showed four threats to the Brazilian economy, especially to southern Brazil. One of them is the trade balance, in which there is a balance between exports and imports. The current model causes deindustrialization, represented, for example, in increasing almost three times in recent years the volume of imported components, in particular China.
Problems in the relationship with the Federal Government also damage the economy. The fourth threat presented was the loss of performance due to the severe crisis in public finances.
