Semarnat (Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources) recently developed and published the Manual Good Practices in the Use of Alternative Substances to Hydrochlorofluorocarbons Version Mexico 2014, which deals with the process of elimination of HCFC refrigerants, as well as the use of cleaning agents that do not have HCFC and Natural Refrigerants.
Engineer Gildardo Yáñez, an expert in refrigeration, explained that in order to eliminate the total consumption of HCFC-141b as a cleaning agent and initiate the replacement and elimination of HCFC-22, the document was prepared, which will be the basic tool that will be used for the training of refrigeration technicians.
The Manual also contains a guide to substitutes for HCFC-22 and new refrigerants that are on the market or in development to replace HCFCs and HFCs.
