Mexico. Volkswagen de Mexico and DuPont announced the implementation of sustainable solutions in the automotive plant that the German brand has in Puebla, the second most important of the group outside Europe, with the aim of improving cooling technology in its production processes and reducing damage to the ozone layer.
The solution implemented at the Volkswagen plant in Puebla was DuPont Isceon MO99, a refrigerant (HFC) used for reconditioning of R-22 gas, which combines pressure and compatibility characteristics, with mineral oil to replace the previous gas in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, covering a wide range of temperatures in the evaporator.
According to DuPont, among the benefits offered by this refrigerant technology is its affordable cost, allows you to continue using existing equipment, is compatible with certain lubricants, can be recharged without removing the entire refrigerant charge and also does not damage the ozone layer.
"DuPont puts its innovative and scientific capabilities in biology, chemistry, materials science and engineering to work to help our customers, as in the case of Volkswagen, solve their problems and achieve their goals such as environmental protection," said José Luis Mata Jaime, leader of DuPont's Chemicals and Fluoroproducts business.
Within all the advice, the specialized team of DuPont Chemicals and Fluoroproducts trained the technical team and supervision of the Volkswagen plant and carried out tests on the air conditioning equipment in the facilities, with the aim of completing a reconditioning properly, where they recovered the R-22 refrigerant, changed dehydrating filters and seals, They evacuated the system, loaded the coolant, and checked the system for possible leaks, monitoring equipment performance before and after overhaul.
