Nicaragua. Due to the high temperatures and the improvement of the facilities in general, the National Government, through the Ministry of Cooperative and Associative Community Family Economy (Mefcca) installed three new cold rooms for the wholesale markets.
The local newspaper La Prensa details that Managua will be the city where these equipment are implemented that have a cost of US $ 5.1 million, and that they will be donated by the Republic of China (Taiwan).
One of the refrigerators has a capacity of 300 tons and will allow the storage of up to 4,970 quintals of vegetables, vegetables and fruits. The second cold room has a capacity of 768 tons and will be able to store around 789,000 liters of milk or 1,965 quintals of cheese or its derivatives. The equipment will be installed in Mercado de Mayoreo and Mercado Iván Montenegr, respectively.
The third equipment has a capacity of 972 tons to store improved seed to produce 40% of the total basic grain generated at the National Center for Agricultural Research and Biotechnology (Cniab), of the Nicaraguan Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA).
It is expected that by july the rooms will be installed and in operation.
