Chile. The National Government developed an energy efficiency evaluation plan that allows to know the sustainable levels that are built in the residential sector (houses and apartments).
The project is led by the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism of Chile, Minvu, and will be carried out in 4,600 houses, which will receive an efficiency seal that qualifies the quality of the residence from "A" to "G".
This plan will begin to be executed in 2013 and will analyze the energy consumption for its lighting, heating, water heating systems, among other factors. A home that exceeds 80% per year in energy savings will be rated as efficient.
The Minvu said that with this voluntary initiative it seeks to encourage Chileans to build green and efficiently.
