Victaulic has launched the Dynamic Motion W257 Style Gasket as a more efficient solution to accommodate seismic movement, differential settling, and thermal motion in piping systems with grooved ends of diameters of 14-78"/DN350-DN1950 mm.
The W257 Style is an assembly of steel pipe segments with grooved ends joined with flexible couplings. The flexible grooved joint allows for a controlled range of deflection and longitudinal movement, but at the same time offers a self-contained joint. This means that there is no need to use a harness or other device on the outside of the pipe to protect against catastrophic separation of the joint.
The joint is delivered to the field pre-assembled and with pre-slotted ends ready to be coupled to the pipe using only two flexible slotted couplings, Style W77.
