Colombia. The Colombian Association of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Acaire, celebrates in 2011, together with its 146 affiliates, 30 years at the forefront of the knowledge, application of engineering and services of CVAR in Colombia and Latin America.
As part of the commemoration activities, the Association granted, during the last General Assembly of Affiliates, a special recognition to its former presidents and founding members. Additionally, the directors will hold a special celebration dinner within the framework of ExpoAcaire and the IV International Congress of Engineering and Thermal Sciences, to be held simultaneously between July 28 and 30 in Cartagena, Colombia.
But what have been Acaire's greatest achievements during these three decades? In dialogue with ACR LATINOAMÉRICA, Rodrigo Pinzón, president of the Association, made an account of the main advances and emphasized some achievements and objectives of the industry in the coming years.
According to the official, the focus of the Association has been the training and updating of the sector through commercial meetings, congresses, seminars and specialized courses. "In order to provide comfort to facilities and processes, we have seen the need to train professionals committed to the search for responsible solutions that, in addition to allowing rational energy consumption, have a greater commitment to the environment."
"Additionally, we have sought progress on issues such as energy, health and cold chain. And, as part of our goal of promoting well-being, competitiveness and sustainable growth, we open important paths with missions of entrepreneurs to Germany, China and Korea, which have allowed us to know new technologies and establish important relationships for the Latin American industry."
In the same way, regarding the objectives that are had in the industry, the official said "that we need there to be rapid developments of solutions that minimize the environmental impact, that governments stimulate investment in the conversion of clean technologies, that there is awareness of each of the beings in the use of technology and that the well-being of customers and processes is maintained."
